The BVI is a true boater's paradise, offering countless anchorages just miles apart, with pristine uninhabited islands and secluded beaches. With easy access from most major U.S. airports, this beautiful boater's paradise offers smooth, deep-water island hopping with simple line-of-sight navigation, so you always know exactly where you're headed. There are many different destinations to explore on your yacht. Experience the amazing caves at Norman Island where you can snorkel inside these marvels of nature. Dive the wreck of the Rhone, or visit the gigantic boulder-formed wonders of The Baths . Cruise to breathtaking Anegada , with its white beaches and spectacular reefs. Whatever your destination you will have a one-of-a-kind BVI Holiday filled with natural beauty and plenty of opportunity to explore. Day 1 – Depart the dock from Nanny Cay Marina to The Bight on Norman Island. You will have plenty of time to cruise to The Indians, and from there enjoy some excellent snorkeling at The Caves after anchoring for the night. Legend plays a large part in the history of Norman Island with tales of pirates and treasure caves, although the role of the island as the model for the epic “Treasure Island” by Robert Louis Stevenson is perhaps the most famous legend of all. Today The Caves are one of the most popular tourist attractions in the islands. Go ashore and visit The Pirates Bight or The Willy Thortons floating bar/restaurant, each serves great food and offers the utmost in casual dining. Day 2 – Head up the Sir Francis Drake Channel to Coopers Island . Swim, snorkel, scuba, kayak, fish, hike, explore the whole island or just lie on the beach and relax. Snorkeling right off the beach offers the best views, or you could try snorkeling off of Cistern Point. There are white sand beaches, no roads and only four privately owned properties on the island, plus a small beach club resort. The climate is almost perfect with balmy tropical breezes. You'll see coconut palms, bougainvillea, frangipani, yucca, orchids and other exotic plants on the island and a nice variety of birds. Stroll down the beach to the Beach Club for cocktails, lunch or dinner. Day 3 – Cruise up to The Baths on Virgin Gorda . The Baths represent the stellar natural attraction of the British Virgin Islands, with exotic pools and grottos formed by giant boulders strewn across sand beaches. Moorings are available and anchoring is possible all along the coast. Lovely and less crowded Devil's Bay can be reached by a very interesting trail through The Baths. On calm days, scuba and skin divers can enjoy a pretty cave on its south side in 12-15' of water. Also at the entrance to the Baths is the elegant but casual Top of the Baths restaurant, whose open air verandah has magnificent panoramic views. Relax with a painkiller or other frozen fruit drink while enjoying lunch. Then, head across to Marina Cay for the night. Day 4 – Power up to The Dogs for a day anchorage. Enjoy the day around these small islands which are part of the marine national park and seabird refuge with great diving and snorkeling. Then, cruise up to Gorda Sound and spend the night anchored at one of the many beautiful bays. For a quieter spot choose Drakes Anchorage. Go ashore in the evening and walk over the hill to watch the sunset from Honeymoon Beach. If you want entertainment, Bitter End Yacht Club offers music most nights. You can re-provision your boat, visit the shops, rent a Hobie Cat, or learn to windsurf. Leverick Bay is a Pusser's Resort and has a great store. Biras Creek is for those seeking elegance and first-class service. The resort has one of the best restaurants and wine cellars in the BVI (there is a dress code after 7pm). Day 5 – Cruise 14-miles north and get ready for the unique island of Anegada . The BVI's only coral atoll, is an island of radiant sun with beaches that disappear into the horizon. Ringed by an endless stretch of sand, this pristine Caribbean secret, tucked away in The British Virgin Islands, is the ultimate place to get away from it all. Enjoy the day by taking a taxi ride to Loblolly Bay. Relax on the beautiful sand beach or go snorkeling in some of the clearest waters in the BVI. After a day on the beach enjoy the famous barbequed lobster at many of the fine restaurants. Day 6 – Depart Anegada and head to Monkey Point on Guana Island in time for lunch and some snorkeling. Cruise down the rugged and unspoiled North Shore of Tortola and overnight on Jost Van Dyke. You can choose Great Harbour the island's arrival point with its white sandy horseshoe shape, offering a fabulous water sport facility with a host of friendly and casual beach bars and restaurants or Little Harbour known for anchoring close to shore and voted one of the top 10 beaches in the world by Caribbean Travel & Life. Day 7 – Power over to the beautiful island of Sandy Cay . Totally remote this island is definitely worth any sailor's trip. Enjoy marvelous snorkeling in a relaxed atmosphere. Kick back and enjoy lunch before heading to Cane Garden Bay, where you can enjoy a pleasant evening listening to the outstanding island music drifting across the water. Enjoy beachside restaurants and shops, and Caribbean music under the palm trees. Final Day – After breakfast head back to Nanny Cay Marina for an early end to a perfect BVI Holiday. Allow plenty of time to refuel, freshen up and enjoy a meal at the Pirates Leg, located right down the boardwalk on Nanny Cay. |
